Brooklyn Cookie Jar Porter

So, last night I found myself at the premier party for Brooklyn Brewery's new Brewmaster Reserve beer Cookie Jar Porter. Simply Amazing. With ingredients like "floor malted barley malt, golden oats, raisins, brown sugar, honey, vanilla beans and a subtle dash of spice" this beer is another home run by the man who brought us Blast, Manhattan Project, and the rest of the stellar Brooklyn Brewery lineup.

Based on the oatmeal cookies from Feed Your Soul Bakery, it's a robust dark beer that isn't heavy and dense like Guinness. Lancaster Brewing's Milk Stout comes to mind. This feels more premium though. Dark enough for winter, light enough to drink a shit-load of it.

Cookie Jar Porter is taking the place of Brooklyn Backbreaker Ale on the taps, and hopefully while its still cold outside. No word yet on availibility, but you can probably expect to see it in the next couple of weeks at one of the Brewmaster bars in New York, Mass, or Philly.
